I’m crazy about caramel so just about any dessert with caramel or dish with caramelized flavours is bound to hit the sweet spot for me, except maybe when its burnt or cloyingly sweet.
Whilst running errands in the Bras Basah area on a particularly warm and muggy afternoon, I stopped by Raffles Creamery at Raffles Hotel to pick up a scoop of freshly made ice cream. As usual, there seemed to be nobody at the ice cream stand. My craving for the Macadamia Caramel Ice Cream was so strong, I hung around for about 5 minutes before a lady appeared. She was apologetic for keeping me waiting and gave me a fairly generous scoop to make up for the delay.Macadamia Caramel Ice Cream @ S$5.20 for a single scoop
I like the Macadamia Caramel Ice Cream here because it is smooth and creamy without being excessively sweet. I especially enjoyed the smoky, bordering-on-burning-the-sugar Caramel flavour and the chunks of rich and nutty Macadamia Nuts. This is definitely worth a try if you happen to be in the vicinity.
Raffles Creamery offers mix-in condiments for their ice creams, much like Cold Stone Creamery and Marble Slab though I somehow never felt inclined to get anything but pure ice cream whenever I visit. On a hot day, the tables and ceiling fans next to the quiet ice cream stand offer a welcome refuge from the oppressive heat. The venue is available for booking for kid’s parties and ice cream gatherings.Raffles Creamery (Outside Seah Street Deli) 1 Beach Road, Raffles Hotel Singapore, Singapore 189673 Tel: (65) 6412 1816 (no reservations) Email: firstname.lastname@example.org Operating Hours
